How Shel Holtmeyer Designs Became My Creative Outlet and Business
We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.
Shel Holtmeyer Designs Shop began as my search for a passive income source that could cater to my need to stay at home with my daughters and require minimal time, given my already limited availability. Initially, I was uncertain about its long-term viability. I thought I would test it out for a short period and, if unsuccessful, I would close it down, at least knowing I tried.
Although I’m still waiting for success, I take pleasure in the few orders I’ve received so far. Interacting with customers and guiding them on how to use my templates has been a rewarding experience. It’s fulfilling to know that in some small way, I’ve contributed to others’ significant life moments.
Working on this small project spurs my creativity and ideas keep flooding in. I am eager to continue these projects and keep expanding my idea list for new items to add to the shop in the coming months and years. While my shop may not mirror the wild successes you often hear about, I cherish my modest victories and find joy in every moment I spend helping someone or receiving validation that my designs are appreciated.
As a stay-at-home mom, I’ve encountered numerous so-called “passive” jobs that are far from passive. They often add more to your workload and are typically less profitable than advertised. Despite the lack of immediate success, I take comfort in knowing I’ve been giving my best and working at my own pace. I’m learning and growing daily, and I hope to continue on this path for many more years.

Current Shel Holtmeyer Designs Projects
I’m excited to share what’s been happening at Shel Holtmeyer Designs. Lately, I’ve been engrossed in building up my inventory of digital designs. These include templates for graduation parties, bridal showers, and baby showers. In the future, I plan to branch out and create matching designs for Welcome Signs to complement these events.
While the Welcome signs are still under development, I’m currently finding great inspiration in creating digital graduation invitations. I provide a bundle purchase option, allowing you to acquire both the digital template and its printable card version. The card versions are available in both 4×6 and 5×7 sizes.
I’ve always loved designing invitations and cards, which is no surprise to those who know me. I take great pleasure in creating these items and offering my services to those who may lack the time or means to design their own. My goal is to alleviate the stress for those planning an event. I offer clients the choice to select one of my templates, download it, modify the text, and either print or send it immediately. This service helps to remove one task from their to-do list, allowing them to enjoy their special milestones even more.
